Ink is the global leader in producing more inflight magazines for more airlines than any other company in the world, Ink reaches a captive audience of hundreds of millions of travellers each year with Targeted Advertising (TAD) on confirmation emails, check-in emails, print-at-home & mobile boarding passes and on onboard entertainment systems.

My role as International Sales Manager was to ensure that my teams happy,  managing their accounts correctly, sourcing new leads constantly and of course ensure that we, as a team hit our targets. Our goal was to ensure KLM had high quality advertising on their available mediums.

My daily duties involved managing my own accounts, finding new leads, cold calling and arranging sales trips. During my first year I successfully sold over £500,000 worth of advertising to clients directly and via media agencies. This involved travelling abroad on a monthly basis.

After 12 issues and 12 successful budgets I was promoted to Sales Manager; as well as continuing to find new business and manage my existing accounts here are some of my other responsibilities and achievements.

  • Ultimately I was responsible for one of Ink's flagship titles that generated over1,800,000 per year which is unheard of in print media.
  • Monthly meeting with KLM/Media Partners to finalize advert placements; discuss future editorial and reenforce relationship
  • Manage and support a sales team consisting of 4 Sales Executives
  • Commercialize Holland Herald webpage
  • Launch and introduce the concept of boarding pass/check in e-mail advertisements
  • Report weekly to CEO & Commercial Director
  • Construct quarterly and annual growth forecasts and analysis of previous years/quarters
